Herbs having antihemorrhagic principles:

Alfalfa – Good for bleeding-related disorders

Angelica– Antispasmodic good for menstrual pain

Astragalus – Increases production of white blood cells

Cattail- Good for bleeding in urine, stool, cough, open wounds. Good for postpartum-Dysfunction, Painful Menses

Chickweed  – Stops heavy menstrual bleeding

Cramp Bark – Relaxes uterus and relieves painful cramps associated with periods; helps protect from threatened miscarriage; astringent action aids in treatment of excessive blood loss in periods, especially in menopause; Stimulating nervine

Cranesbill – Astringent and tonic. Stops bleeding.

Eclipta – Nourishes the kidneys and liver and stops bleeding. Good for heavy menstrual or postpartum bleeding.

Goldenseal – Regulates menses. (Can use Oregon Grape Root in place of Goldenseal)

Horsetail  – Depresses bleeding

Lady’s Mantle  - Astringent

Mugwort – Styptic herb useful if bleeding is prolonged
